A Wisdom Equinox Pause: When Two Become One

September 21 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

During this September equinox moment — as we feel into the thin space when day and night, light and dark are of equal length — may we seize this sacred opportunity ‘where two or three are gathered together in My name’ to become one living body. Join as we pause, an international Wisdom collective, to amplify our unified presence while growing our capacity for interconnected compassion.

Our hosts for this event will be Beth O’Neil from Australia and Teresie Viera Hasanova from Czechia. Across a blessed hour, our seasoned Wisdom facilitators will guide us in global greetings and sacred practices including: body prayer, chant, Visio and Lectio Divina, and shared silence. Working with the Gospel of Thomas, Logion 22, we’ll explore how two may become one during this thin time. As separateness collapses, we will find a new ground to, as Jesus said, “pray for our enemies and bless those that curse us.”

In preparation for this hour, please prayerfully walk the ground in your community/street and collect two small twigs and bring them and some twine to the gathering.

About Our Equinox Leaders

Beth O’Neil: Beth is happy to be supporting Wisdom work in Australia and beyond; and has been listening to how a Wisdom community might emerge, allowing the space for her devotion, deep listening and daily practice of a living Wisdom within the appearance of the ordinariness of human life.

Beth identifies birth as an experience which offers empowerment and deep insight into the unbounded mystery of life, and the power of giving oneself to a greater love. She is always open to listening and sharing her insights with mothers and mothers to be on this journey. She has worked overseas, in hospitals, birth centres, supported in homebirth, and teaches in parent education.

Beth brings her experience of living Wisdom to her participation in the Wisdom Waypoints book circles, chanting, and holding the post in the meditation circles on zoom. At home Beth organizes and leads Heart Song at St Pauls, Beaconsfield — a service of chant and wisdom sayings embraced in silence. She is part of a local Centering Prayer community and an interfaith contemplative group exploring Wisdom embedded in other faith and spiritual traditions.

Beth lives with her husband Ken, surrounded by her two sons, family and friends in Perth West Australia. She loves being in the elements, in water, walking and camping in nature, and living simply and lightly on the earth as possible.

Teresie Viera Hasanova: Born in Slovakia, Teresie studied in Prague and now lives in a former vicarage in a small village in southern Czechia. There she offers hospitality and leads the Service of the Word, when there is no priest available. As an English teacher in Strakonice she enriches the childrens (aged 11-15) lessons by sitting in silence, chanting, body movements and dances from Capacitar Chakra Tai Chi (another of her daily practices).

In 2016, Teresie was trained in London, and since then she has been doing courses of Introduction to Centering Prayer and retreats as a Contemplative Outreach coordinator for Czechia and Slovakia. She is a facilitator in the “Hinsley Room” London Saturdays online program and runs daily online Centering Prayer in the international “Universal Cathedral.”
