Julian of Norwich, a woman devoted to deep prayer and accompaniment of others, calls to us today. Julian held that God is closer than our very soul, and she welcomed both God and Jesus as Mother, inviting us too to welcome the strength of the feminine within. I, Marcella, have fallen in love with Julian’s devotional heart of embodied prayer and I invite her to teach us what she knows of this vast enlivened love.
St. Brigid of Ireland, a woman of threshold, fire, and courage calls to us today. As one who was a beacon of light in her time, she shines with inspiration for us now. I, Cathy, have been greatly impacted by this woman from the 5th C, and I invite us into a time of learning, pondering, and receiving wisdom we need for the times we are in.
Cathy & Marcella are joining together to create a retreat experience for the soul, inspired by these two women. With embodied exercise, writing prompts, music meditation, and more, you are invited to receive and be inspired for the moment of life you are in.
Through a variety of three-centered Wisdom practices, we will notice and reflect on how these two devotional women profoundly experienced and tenaciously offered PRAYER and COURAGE in strikingly evocative ways. We will take time to reflect on the lives of these two women and then engage in spiritual practices of stillness, listening, music, and embodied prayer to integrate the wisdom we are receiving.
What is the vastness of the COURAGE and PRAYER of these two women, and what do they offer to each of us individually today and also as a GIFT to our WORLD.
Let’s join together and allow these two women to pray with and through us this summer and to offer us courage.
