Wisdom Waypoints Book Discussion Zoom Group

January 28, 2020 - June 23, 2020

Wisdom Way of Knowing:
Reclaiming an Ancient Tradition to Awaken the Heart
by Cynthia Bourgeault (2003)

Once a month starting in 2020 ~ January through June

Note: this class is now full. Please stay tuned for upcoming Northeast Wisdom online groups to be announced!

The Wisdom way of knowing is about using our whole being to see. We can prepare our hearts to awaken–and re-awaken–and perceive using “more of us,” not just “knowing more.” Our heart knows the way.

In our 6 month Tuesday book discussion group we will intentionally cultivate Wisdom knowing through:

  • Supportive group discussions connected with readings in The Wisdom Way of Knowing by Cynthia Bourgeault – 1 chapter a month
  • Mindful attentional practices
  • Meditation
  • Body movements and sacred gesture

This book discussion group experience is designed for seekers who want to cultivate a deeper connection with the Wisdom tradition which lies at the headwaters of all sacred paths. As we come together in community, seeking inspiration and practices for our awakening, we will leave with a felt sense of our deepening presence and how we can be of service in the world.

From The Wisdom Way of Knowing Forward by Thomas Moore:

“Here is where I think this book on the Wisdom tradition has great value. This is not a wishy-washy sermon advocating wisdom in some generic sense. It gets down to the particulars of ancient teachings, the tough and challenging parts, that aim at spiritual intelligence and a carefully examined way of life… I welcome this carefully crafted book and recommend it to any reader looking into an uncertain future, feeling insufficiently prepared for the challenges of a complex culture of the twenty-first century. You don’t need factual knowledge as much as you need the special kind of wisdom described in these pages. Take the vision offered here and create your own path, guided by centuries of sharp, perceptive insight into the spiritual life….”

As one’s being decreases, the old meanings return.”
