This Wisdom Equinox Pause was hosted by Wisdom Waypoints and recorded live via Zoom on September 21, 2024.
In this hour, we gathered for a global pause to amplify our unified Wisdom presence while growing our capacity for interconnected compassion. Working with the Gospel of Thomas, Logion 22, we explored how two may become one during this thin equinox time where light and dark are of equal length. When separateness collapses, we find new ground to, as Jesus said, “pray for our enemies and bless those that curse us.” Our hour was grounded by the sacred practices of body prayer, chant, Visio and Lectio Divina, and shared silence.
Our thanks and appreciation to all who participating and contributed in this event. A special thanks to our event facilitators Beth O’Neil and Ken O’Neil from Australia and Teresie Viera Hasanova from Czechia, as well as event technical support by Marcella Kraybill-Greggo.

Readings: Gospel of Thomas Logion 22
Jesus saw some infants who were being suckled. He said to his disciples: These infants being suckled are like those who enter the kingdom. They said to him: If we then become children, shall we enter the kingdom? Jesus said to them: When you make the two one, and when you make the inside as the outside, and the outside as the inside, and the upper as the lower, and when you make the male and the female into a single one, so that the male is not male and the female not female, and when you make eyes in place of an eye, and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then shall you enter [the kingdom].
Lectio Divina Readings:
Living Presence by Kabir Helminski
“Whoever makes all our cares into a single care, the care for simply being present, will be relieved of all care by that Presence, which is a reflection of Spirit. We can take a step back from the world of attraction, comparison and dependence on externals, remember this vitality within us and connect with it.”
“The Revelations of the Aramaic Jesus. The Hidden Teachings on Life” by Neil Douglas Klotz
The Secret to Yeshua’s “bless them that curse you and pray for them which despitefully use you,” entails finding the right match, the magnetic north pole to another’s magnetic south. ….. What balances the other’s unripe act is its opposite, a ripe one on our part. ……This entails standing in the middle and feeling both forces, finding the place within from which both seeming opposites arise. This is our soul’s connection to Alaha (God), and feeling it means standing in the heart (leba), which can see in both directions.
East Coker III by CS Lewis
“I said to my soul, be still, and wait without hope for hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love, For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith. But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting. Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought: So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.”
Mystical Hope by Cynthia Bourgeault
“At the foundation of the soul, at that point vierge, something of our being presses deep into the heart of God and begins to swim in the infinite ocean of God’s mercy. That ocean is our source and substance, the ground of our own arising, the foundation of hope.”

Chant: by Paulette Meier based on words by Gerard Guiton
Stillness, deep deep within us.
In small beginnings it flows into the living waters.
The ocean of God, through our stillness, God moves.
Closing Prayer by Nan Merril in Lumen Christi Holy Wisdom
Blessed Divine Guest within heart’s Sacred Chapel,
You birth us into two lives the inner, the outer the worldly, the divine;
Mirrors that bear witness one to the Other.
Growth garnered in the school of the opposites diminishes separation: Union ends duality.
Like the tree with myriad branches, each unique leaf is divine, united in diversity!
Guard well the Pearl: beautiful Treasure of your heart.
