As we collectively face this unprecedented moment of destabilization and volatility, the Wisdom question of the moment seems to be: What is ours to hold — and how do we do it consciously?
In early May, Cynthia Bourgeault offered a half day teaching addressing this pressing question in which she outlined a theology of Hope as understood by the Wisdom lineage, the vital importance of three-centered awareness in our spiritual practice, the needfulness of metis, and cultivating our ability to listen with clarity for that which “has our name on it.” We invite you to watch an excerpt of the teaching here.
Our work with this teaching only continues to deepen and intensify. Now, as a community, we prepare to join in a 3-week Wisdom cohort to expand and explore each of these themes as we seek to integrate and better understand what is ours to hold during these turbulent times.
For three Wednesdays in August from 1:00pm to 2:30pm ET, we will gather and begin with a brief meditation or other spiritual practice, listen to a portion of the teaching with additional commentary by the facilitator, Rebecca Parker. There will then be a time for small group conversation guided by questions, a return to the large group, and a final closing. Additional resources will be offered each week to continue our at-home study and integration.
As a network, we are fiercely resolved — we do not want to hide from “What Is Ours to Hold” — yet we want to do it from a grounded, balanced position of Wisdom. Join us.
