Join us for a two-and-a-half-day Advent retreat, in-person or by way of Zoom, as we explore Mary’s relationship to Jesus as a hidden-in-plain-sight illumination of the Christian path of engaged non-attachment. Following the Gospel texts and the poetry of Khalil Gibran, we will discover Mary’s robust and courageous embodiment as a joy-filled teaching and invitation to shelter, germinate, release, and sow the seeds of Christ in our own lives as service to the whole.
Retreat includes co-teaching, guided contemplative exercises, a general Benedictine structure of Ora et Labora and shared silence-with a closing eucharist celebration on the final afternoon.
This retreat will take place from Friday, December 3, 2021 beginning at Noon CST for in-person participants and 2pm CST for Zoom participants through Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 5pm CST (from Mustang Island Conference Center in Port Aransas, Texas.)
This event is led and co-taught by the Rev. Jonathan Steele and Fr. Benjamin Thomas – through the concentrated efforts and vehicle of Origin + Omega. Together they bring an integrated and illuminating embodiment to the Christian Wisdom path through their independent training as retreat leaders, spiritual directors and professional clergy. Their teaching is steeped in decades of integrated psychological and spiritual inner and outer work. Including the past 5-years of sharing a growing and intensifying tutelage under, and grounding within, the Wisdom lineage of the Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault. This grounding now emerges most powerfully between Jonathan and Benjamin as a reciprocal, dynamic and embodied exchange of Wisdom transmission.
