Online Wisdom Practice Book Circle

The Wisdom Way of Knowing:
Reclaiming an Ancient Tradition to Awaken the Heart

by Cynthia Bourgeault

Once a month, January to May 2022 – Hosted by Wisdom Waypoints

The Wisdom Way of KnowingThe reference to a “Wisdom” way of knowing is about using our whole being to see.  We can prepare our hearts to awaken (and re-awaken) and perceive using “more of us”, not just “knowing more”.  Our heart knows the way.

In our 5-month book discussion group (the last Tuesday of each month) we will intentionally cultivate Wisdom knowing through:

  • Grounding in the practices of a Wisdom Circle
  • Supportive group discussions facilitated by seasoned Wisdom practitioners examining a few chapters a month
  • Mindful attentional practices/Inner Tasks
  • Meditation
  • Body movements and sacred gesture

This Wisdom Book Study and Practice Circle is designed for seekers who want to cultivate a deeper connection with the Wisdom tradition which lies at the headwaters of all sacred paths. As we come together in community, seeking inspiration and practices for our awakening, we will leave with a felt sense of our deepening presence and how we can be of service in the world.

Dates:  Last Tuesday of the month: 1/25, 2/22, 3/29, 4/26, 5/31

All spaces for this offering are FULL. Registration is now closed.

Praise for The Wisdom Way of Knowing, from the book foreword by Thomas Moore:

Here is where I think this book on the Wisdom tradition has great value. This is not a wishy-washy sermon advocating wisdom in some generic sense. It gets down to the particulars of ancient teachings, the tough and challenging parts, that aim at spiritual intelligence and a carefully examined way of life… I welcome this carefully crafted book and recommend it to any reader looking into an uncertain future, feeling insufficiently prepared for the challenges of a complex culture of the twenty-first century. You don’t need factual knowledge as much as you need the special kind of wisdom described in these pages. Take the vision offered here and create your own path, guided by centuries of sharp, perceptive insight into spiritual life.
