Communications Director

Wisdom Waypoints is ready to hire a Communications Director to work closely with the Board as we continue to grow in our mission to transmit the Wisdom lineage as taught by Cynthia Bourgeault.

We are poised on a growth threshold where a gifted director is needed to enable us to implement our goals and vision. We anticipate this position beginning with 80 hours a month, with flexible availability, and moving toward a full-time role within 6 months. The salary is negotiable.

Job Tasks 

  • Create Clear Communication Systems: Work closely with Board leadership to create and consolidate communications systems
  • Manage Gmail & MailChimp inboxes: Respond to messages communicated through info@wisdomwaypoints.org, admin@wisdomwaypoints.org, and MailChimp
  • Manage Website Homepage Content: Keep content fresh. Regularly update the Home page and What’s New for current, relevant content. Suggest/seek new content input (such as blogs, resources, etc.). Keep current with opportunities within the Wisdom Community network and alert for new Cynthia reviews, podcasts, publications, and other promotional opportunities for inclusion on the website; identify what courses and news to feature
  • Manage Website Calendar Content: Keep Cynthia’s calendar up to date and coordinate the advertisement of upcoming events working collaboratively with event hosts.
  • Assist with “Ask Cynthia” questions from the website: Work closely with the Board and Cynthia to process and respond to questions and inquiries in timely fashion
  • Manage Zoom Account: Make sure we have large group capacity when needed. Be available on the day of events to troubleshoot the admission of participants
  • Assist with Newsletter: Create email communications and regular newsletters with relevant/special and timely information and promotions. 
  • Assist with Programs and Events (Book Circles, Practice Days, Solstice/Equinox Gatherings and other Online Events, etc.): Provide logistical and tech support for programs and events including event posting/description, registration process and payment, tech support as needed (such as Zoom set up and assistance), promotions for website and publicity; address customer service related questions and problem-solving. May include post-event follow-up, collecting feedback, etc.
  • Assist with Facebook: Some posting, monitoring requests to join, and managing accounts (This could be developed if someone has interest/expertise with social media)
  • Assist with Annual Fundraising Campaign: Set up donation forms and related/supporting content
  • Assist with Online Courses: Assist the finisher of e-courses.

Qualifications

  •  1+ years administrative experience or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently, capacity to prioritize tasks, manage workflow and address time sensitive deadlines without much supervision
  • Quick learner who is detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Capacity to work well with others, flexible and adaptable to the dynamic environment of working with a small non-profit organization
  • A warm and kind person who has good interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent, professional writing skills (articulate and grammatically correct)
  • Experience interfacing with the public, especially in written form
  • Ability to be planful in assessing the organization’s needs and identifying where gaps may need to be addressed 
  • Personal commitment to diversity, multicultural openness and world-wide inclusion
  • General understanding of, alignment with, and interest in Cynthia Bourgeault’s central Wisdom teaching
  • Proficiency with Google suite, Mailchimp and WordPress
